The Council of Senior Citizens' Organizations of BC (COSCO) has been advocating for seniors since the early 1950s by bringing to the attention of government, concerns about policies that have an adverse affect on seniors. Advocacy efforts include letter writing to government officials, public forums, and protest rallies etc. In recent years, this type of advocacy has had little affect on government; however, times are changing and the need for organized provincial advocacy efforts has increased since the current government has reduced seniors benefits and incomes.
