Are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors of BCPWA? Any HIV-positive person in BC who is a member of BCPWA can run for the Board.
Every year at its Annual General Meeting in August, BCPWA invites the nomination of those members who are interested on sitting on the Board of Directors. There are 11 Board Members who sit on the Board of Directors and they serve staggered, two-year terms. The number of Directors elected by the membership each year alternates from five to six, ensuring continuity of governance for the Society.
If you would like to run for the Board at the AGM, you will need to fill out the "Nomination Form for Directors" and have another member nominate you. You can submit your nomination form as early as you like after you have received your AGM package, or you can declare your intention to run on the floor of the AGM. The Nomination Form is available online or can be printed from the website.
If you are interested in serving on the Board and the AGM has passed, you can still note your interest by filling in a Nomination Form and submitting it to the Chair of the Board.
Serving on the Board of Directors of BCPWA gives you the chance to speak up for yourself and for others.
