Once again this year POP Staff
and volunteers were able to bring small Christmas bags to prisoners in the federal
institutions in BC. Through the generosity of Merck-Frost who covered the cost of the
items, we were able to compile 50 Christmas bags for distribution. Among the items
contained in the bags were shampoo, conditioner, soap, Christmas pudding, and assorted
sweets. BCPWA also provided 50 copies of the Living Positive Manual as a donation to the
inmates.
With the help of volunteer Chair Quita and Ron F from YouthCo, the bags were delivered
the week before Christmas. POP volunteers and staff would like to thank the inmates who
wrote thanking us for remembering them at Christmas. Additionally we would like to
acknowledge the kindness of the institutions in making it easy for us to get the goodies
to our members.
